Expectations for 9 year old

My 9 year old son tends to be very careless. In a 45 minute slot of working on school work he will drop his pencil that’s in his hand 3-5 times. This happens daily. He’ll go to take chopsticks for the family and drops 2-3 of them. He does have a vivid imagination. And always imagines he’s in a battle. So he hits two pencils together when working on math or hits the chopsticks together while them. This results in the utensils dropping. We have sat down and done a soda trying to solve this tendency of not focusing on the main task, getting distracted and then causing an accident. That it’s a no answer to play with his pencils when doing his school work. This last week we had an uptick in careless accidents which have been don’t costly. Each one happened after we gave a no answer or an instruction to do something. Example, drink this freshly made juice immediately so you get the nutrients (we do this daily). But he only drank half of the cup and puts it down. It then spilt all over our MacBook and completely broke it. Second example: Don’t walk and read at the same time and he knocked over an antique (which was cheaply bought in a garage sale but hard to replace or find). I sense my frustration increasing with him because I expect him to be more careful as a 9 year old. Also what consequence should I give him for breaking the laptop? On one hand my husband should not have given him the juice while he was doing his coding lessons. On the other hand my son was given an instruction to drink it all up. Thank you so much Nicholeen.
