Hi Nicholeen! How would you handle a situation where your children don't like your voice, or how you speak? My son recently told me that when I tried to discipline him as a child my tone of voice made him cringe, which made him not want to listen to me. My daughter reacts in a similar manner and gets very annoyed with me because of my voice. Apparently my voice gets a bit higher pitched and I'm "too nice", as my son put it. I've tried so hard to use a lower tone when correcting, but I can only do so much with the voice I have. No one else seems to be bothered by this, and I have even been complemented by total strangers by the sound of my voice, but when my children say this to me, it really affects my confidence to speak. Any advice would be so amazing, thank you!
