We have a 3 year old son as well as a 16 mo old son. We started the TSG Parenting Course today, and we have been implementing some of the skills we have picked up from your YouTube videos. My wife and I have already seen such a positive impact on our child just by keeping ourselves calm. We do have a specific question regarding the 3 year old. He sometimes gets into a very silly/out of control mode of behavior during corrections or instructions. For example, later in the day he was running around the house naked after being instructed several times to get dressed (something he can manage to do but is still a work in progress). He was running around laughing and flopping around and wouldn't look at us. Normally, before starting your course, we would yell at him to snap him out of this mode of behavior. How would you recommend we handle this? Would we treat it as being out of instructional control and force him to stay in a calm down spot? For my wife this becomes a power struggle as he is very physically strong and will not stay put, and she also has the 16 month old to keep an eye on during these episodes. Any suggestions or insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
