We are an LDS family who has spent the last 20 years living overseas serving with the foreign service as diplomats. We adopted our fifth child while living in Vietnam, from Vietnam. This changed so many things in our life forever, especially our youngest child before we adopted. She was the baby girl, and because of so many developmental challenges and behaviors such as RAD, ODD, autism, aspergers that were diagnosed in our adopted son, our daughter has definitely had issues. She has been diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and for the last several years in our home was angry and defiant all the time and addicted to her phone. At the age of 12, our adopted son was becoming so out of control we sent him to a military academy in South Carolina and hoped we could focus more on our daughter with him gone. However, she was so angry and defiant, depressed by then she just shut us out and we just did not know what to do. I researched many treatment centers and a military academy for her too. Finally, I found TSG and when our son came home for visits on his breaks from school I started the 4 skills with him It was amazing, he picked up and ever since then we have done it with him but it seemed like it was too late for her.
