Help Me Teach Self-Government in England

After the BBC show in 2009 we knew we needed to find a way to get to England to help families learn self-government principles.  The need was obvious, and the call from within was strong.

The people in the UK had seen a picture of what a happy family looked like and showed us that they want more parenting information by making our episode “the most watched episode ever on the BBC.”  (According to 20/20 television)

At that time, after the show we tried to see if there was a way to make it to England to help follow up the show with teaching.  We didn’t know the best way to do it, and all our efforts seemed to be stopped one way or another.

So, we started working hard to improve the TSG materials and ended up going to China to speak to families there.  Our book is translated into chinese, but we are still waiting for the book to be printed.  Our work in China will resume soon.  Just so you know, the book is also translated into Spanish at this point.

Then, this winter we were contacted by this lovely family.  They wanted to know about our parenting, and about how we live.  After a about six weeks we found ourselves on a plane heading over to a very special event for the family.  While visiting England, we were asked to speak a few times.  The last speaking egagement at the church this family was attending was a very big moment for me.  They announced my event like this:  “Come to a FREE parenting workshop by the world’s strictest parent.”

People came, even though the roads were bad and the weather was snowy.  Government Family Service Workers, and people of all faiths in the community came to get free parenting help.  And, I taught them about self-government principles and skills.  I taught them about the Spirit of love and how to look into each other’s hearts.

By the end of the presentation, the people didn’t want to leave.  They were so united and comfortable.  We all stayed a talked for a while after, and a couple days later as well.

The biggest part of the night however, was when I was giving my final remarks.  At that moment I heard a voice in my mind that said, “Get used to this Nicholeen.  You will do this many times.”  I have been speaking around the world for over 13 years, so of course I will keep speaking.  But, I know that that voice meant I needed to get used to speaking in the UK to communities of people.

In September, my family is planning to go to England for one month to travel from town to town teaching the principles of self-government and giving families there a vision of what is possible for their families.

I need your help.  We have a goal to raise at least $20,000 to make this trip possible.  Please donate to support our efforts to promote world self-government and familial happiness.

Why England?

There are many places we could go to teach self-governemnt, and we will.  (The Aponte family is going to Guatamala this fall to do that there, and I will revist China)  But, England is an important place to start for multiple reasons.

  1. The families in England are more disconnected than almost anywhere else in the world right now.  (As far as family relationships go, the UK is in real need.  They are starving like a “third world” country for strong family bonds.  They need my help!)
  2. Other countries follow England’s example  (Think of the world/UN Impact if families in the UK start leading out with self-government too.)
  3. I am already known there  (I have an automatic BBC endorsement)
  4. I speak English.
  5. I have contacts all over the country that will help me help families.
  6. My heart and soul are being pushed by God to go help in this way.  I will go…  Families need healing.  There is so much emotional bondage.  It is crippling the world.
  7. I understand the family situation there, and can speak ‘their language.’
  8. And, now is the time. (Right after the BBC show it wasn’t time yet, but now I know it IS the time.  We are having faith in that.)

Why Not England?

  1. Money.  It is an expensive place to live for a month, and we have to keep things taken care of at home too.
  2. Time.  The UK is far way, and we will go right at harvest time, and when the school year starts.  Not a good time of year.  It will be a huge family sacrifice!
  3. Yeah, why not?  These are two small excuses.  With God, anything is possible.  Please Help Us Today!  (Insert the amount you want to contribute)

Thank you so much for helping families with us!
