Hygiene help.

Hi Nicholeen,
Thanks again for the opportunity.
So my daughter is 12 years old and she smells bad.
Sadly she has been smelling since she was about 6 due to hormonal imbalance.
I’ve often had to tell her to shower and she gets defensive but most times she does it when I tell her but I sense she may be feeling b m shame.
She also forgets to brush her teeth twice a day and often only remembers to do it at night.
If I remind her to do it in the morning she doesn’t like that and says she was already going to do it.
She doesn’t like when I remind her and says she can do it and doesn’t need me to tell her, however I find if I don’t tell her the day passes and she forgets.
How do I get her to brush her teeth without her getting defensive.
She’s a great girl overall but I’m worried I’ve failed her somewhere in the area of hygiene.
We’ve been through a lot together, she was born from rape and as a result I’ve had depression in the early years of raising her.
She’s amazing in many ways yet want to correct where I’ve failed her.
How do I teach her good hygiene without shaming her please?
