Friendship in the family

Hello Nicholeen,

I believe friendship in the family is very important as long as roles are respected and we are not being permissive parents.

I intend to always have a close relationship with my daughter as a mom and as a friend, I know this concept evolves as kids grow.

I don’t want to be misunderstood about wanting to have a friendship with my daughter. My husband says I shouldn’t say I am her friend, I should say that I am her mother.

Can you please advice me about this subject?
