"Londyn LaRae Says Okay!" is a children's picture book that helps parents teach their children to follow instructions. Porter Earns A Quarter

Children don't like hearing "no" when they ask for something, but it is a normal part of life. Many children whine, pout and get angry when they don't get their way. These negative actions can have a significant impact on a family’s well-being. Lovingly teaching children how to accept "no" answers is a vital part of creating happiness in the home. Once a child understands how to appropriately accept "no" answers, they become more confident, less anxious, more connected to family and much happier.

Nicholeen Peck, author of "Parenting: A House United," has made teaching children self-government easier than ever before with this delightful tale of a boy who learns to accept "no" answers, and, by doing so, makes his own happiness plan.

Big Win for Quin

Ten-year-old Quin has a problem not being able to accept consequences. He doesn't think things are his fault and always looks for someone else to blame. When he earns natural or synthetic consequences, like extra chores, he doesn't stay calm. He yells, pouts and can't drop the subject.

If there is a key lesson in learning self-government, it is this skill — learning to accept consequences. If a child can't accept a consequence, he can't learn to self-govern, because what happens will always be someone else's fault.  He will always think in terms of other people having the power to make him happy or sad, instead of possessing the power to control his own responses himself.

Paije Takes the Stage

This book teaches children the principle of disagreeing appropriately.  This is a principle mentioned in each of the other books in the "Teaching Self-Government: Four Basic Skills" four-book children's series, but is explored more in depth in this book. What is disagreeing appropriately? Just ask eight-year-old Paije.

Little Paije likes to disagree. The problem is she doesn't do it appropriately. She yells, whines and even pouts, but she doesn't really know how to work her problems out.

This darling story, put to rhyme, is a must have for every home! If you want your children to have a voice, but still be respectful and self-governed while expressing themselves, then this is the story for your family.

Popular Parenting Methods: Are They Really Working?

Do the popular parenting methods of today really work? Do they really teach us how to raise children well so that this generation of children become self-governing, responsible, happy adults?

Nicholeen examines popular parenting methods and the long-term results we can expect them to produce in our kids. She then invites the readers to start a parenting revolution in their own home, returning to the best parenting methods... methods that buck the popular parenting styles and restore our families and homes to places where children are trained to be responsible and self-governing.

Roles (Hardcover)

Roles. They define our rights, obligations, responsibilities, beliefs, and even who we are. How well do we each understand our respective roles? How do we teach our children about proper roles? How would the problems children and parents face change if they better understood roles? Aren't parents whether aggressive, passive or assertive always defining roles anyway? How do roles effect business relationships? Why do we see the roles in today's world wrapped around so much confusion and debate when it's impossible to escape roles? This book (published in 2016) makes roles easier to understand, and it shows how to strengthen roles and empower ourselves and those we live and work with to reach our full potentials.

TSG Circles

Listen to this recording from a support call where Nicholeen talks about TSG Circles:

At the base of every great tale of success, you will find an indispensable circle of trusted advisors, mentors and colleagues.” --from "Who’s Got Your Back" by Keith Ferrazzi

A TSG Circle is a powerful mix of friendship, discussion and support group.  Members expect to be challenged to grow and improve themselves and their families.  All members are invited to learn from each other and share with the group equally.  Honesty and a sincere desire for positive growth, concern for each other and a focus on the goal of greater self-governance are the only real requirements for group membership.

TSG Circles is a program we have been working on for a long time.  We have been writing and gathering materials for discussion and support groups to begin all over the world.

Cue Cards

When I did foster care, I had a hard time remembering the new vocabulary I was required to use to help these troubled youth, so I made some cue cards to help myself.

When I first started teaching people the language of self-government and I saw them struggling to remember the new words, I remembered how much cue cards had helped me in the past. These easy to use cards make using the TSG scripts much easier, especially when you need them most.

We recently added 3 new cards, for a total of 8 cards!

Mentoring Journal

This book facilitates mentor sessions with your children — an integrated part of the Teaching Self-Government family system.

A family plan makes everyone feel secure and unified.  Planning time is also a great time to improve relationships and strengthen bonds.  Not only should we have a family plan and a statement to use to keep the family focused, but we need to have regular personal check-up meetings with our children to bond and to offer support with new events and issues.  A family who plans together and regularly talks about those plans will find increased happiness and success in their family and personal lives.

Couple's Meeting Journal

The Couples Meeting Journal is used with the Family Meeting Journal and Mentoring Journal as integrated parts of the Teaching Self-Government family system.

The marital relationship affects all of the family relationships. If the relationship between the parents isn’t healthy, then all of the family relationships become weak.

The couple’s meeting sets the stage for strong family relationships. Parents can discuss issues with the family before meeting with the children, and speak unitedly about topics. That unity helps love, unity and happiness in the home to grow.

The Power of Calm

The Power of Calm: an hour-long audio class by Nicholeen.

"When I go speak to people around the country about the style of parenting I live in my home and the family culture I am passionate about, one of the biggest responses I get is, 'I think I need self-government myself before I can teach it to my children.'

This is so true! It is hard to stay calm when you are under pressure and dealing with the stresses of raising children and living in our fast-paced world.

Starting Your Homeschool Right

When my oldest child was four years old, I decided that he needed to be home-schooled.  At this point, I started studying education and models for learning environments.  I read every home school book and article I could get my hands on, because I wasn't sure what teaching a home was supposed to look like or what principles to follow.  How was I going to teach math?  I have found that most parents who choose to home-school go through this same process.  And I have found that most parents, including myself, get the most help by talking to someone who has already attained success.

Becoming a Joyful Adult

This exclusive audio seminar has previously only been available to members of the TSG Support Group. It details the 5 Key Characteristics of raising and becoming a joyful adult.  Many of you have heard Nicholeen say:

I am not making perfect children; they don't exist.  I am making joyful adults who know what their mission in life is and can't wait to fight for it and have a solid relationship with God and family.

While teaching your children and yourself the principles of self-government is a big part of the process towards becoming joyful, there is more to it. Listen to this five-part audio seminar to better understand how you and your children can prepare to be joyful adults and better live your missions in life.

This class was recorded for Nicholeen's 10-step Implementation Course
