running away

It's me again, about my 12 yr with ADHD,

when he leaves and comes back to the house but isn't ready to begin 24 hrs, do we let him in and keep checking in to start or not let him in until the end of the day around 9 pm to come and sleep, even though he'll probably leave again later that day or next morning?

if he doesn't come back during the day, how many days do we keep doing this? – We have already let all parents know and even had an opportunity to tell his friends he isn't acting safely.

I know overall there will be a turning point for him, just want to make sure we are doing the right thing because right now, we haven't let him back until the evening to sleep and have a chat the next morning hoping he's ready.
