Rule of 3

Hi,

I have never tried the rule of 3 yet necause i am new to this system but I know from previous experience with my son who is oppositional that if I take away priveleges (such as in the rule of 3), He will hold his ground and take revenge by not doing any of his usual responsibilities- such as his schoolwork, not studying for tests, not going to his tutor, not going to music etc.. He will also follow me around and bother me and do super mean and annoying things and then he will demand extra priveledges in addition to getting back his regualr priveleges because he will feel that I was wrong for doing taking away his priveleges. I'm worried that if it takes too long for the 24 hours loss of priveleges to begin, he will fall behind in school. I don't like to cancel his tutor and music teacher at the last minute because he won't go. If he's really upset, he may even threaten that he's not going to school. He is also very hard to deal with when he's super mean and annoying. What do you recommend in this situation with this type of child who is oppositional (and can also get Destructive and verbally agressive)?
