No answer vs. Disagreeing Appropriately

Hi Nicholeen,

I have a question about children giving a no answer vs. disagreeing appropriately with each other. For example if one child wants to be left alone and another child wants to come in the room with them can they just say "I want to be left alone" as a no answer or do they have to disagree appropriately? Or if one child hits another does the child being hit disagree appropriately saying, "I know you want to hit me but…" or just say, "Don't hit me" as their no answer?
