chores as neg consequences

Hi, We live on a very large land that we are building from the ground up, so my kids do a lot of chores already both inside and out. I would say more than your typical kid. We homeschool so they have more time so I struggle with adding more chores as negative consequences. I have listened to the podcasts, and read the book and watched YT videos on chores and hard work being good for kids and I do agree. However, I really don't want them to get a negative view for hard work becaues they get too much. So, this is why I struggle with giving consequences because I don't know what else to do. We homeschool so they do have friends but its not the same as kids that go to school. They do do sports because they love them and its a good physical/emotional outlet for them. We limit screens so Honestly I have no idea what else to use as a negative consequence so often times it ends up just being a lecture. Sending them to their room as a negataive consequence doesn't feel 100 percent but I am open to it. We have thought about having them miss a practice or a game but then we feel like we aren't teaching them right either because their team is counting on them and this can have an impact on a whole lot of other people. If I did miss sports as a neg consequence, they would honestly not even make it to hardly any games or practices bc of the amount of correction we are doing at the moment as we implement. Or if I did go to your room, theyd be there a good chuch of day and that doesn't seem right either?
