One of our children can often become very uncompliant at bed time and moves out of instructional control quickly. We have tried moving bed time procedures forward to accommodate this and will follow through with extra chores. However many nights our son is going to bed very late because of this reason and sometimes when he gets into bed, he becomes out of instructional control. We do not feel that it is the best idea to get him out of bed to do chores. Sometimes I feel he should simply get to sleep because he is only 5 and I wonder if his tiredness can sometimes prevent him moving to front brain. We are just wondering if it is a good idea to refrain from the extra chores once he is in bed.
