Allowances

Did you have regular household jobs/work for your children to perform and give them a regular "paycheck" or dollar allowance when they were growing up? Is the best way to construct an allowance for regular chores, in relation to the EXTRA chores earned as (negative) consequences, simply to set aside the latter as "extra?"
