Accepting a consequence

When the kids get corrected, they earn an extra choir. How to explain to them the “earn” part. You put it in a way that sounds like it is in their favor to get the extra choir. How to understand it and explain it to them? Why is it good for them?
If they refuse to take the extra choir willingly, do I correct them again? What if they drag it and not do the job immediately?
Teaching them to accept a consequence is the trickiest one for me.
