My son is 15.
Immediately after the 24 hour loss of privileges after going all the way through the rule of three I found an old cell phone of one of his friends hidden in my son’s room.
He has a habit of lying and being dishonest. We have a pre-determined agreed upon consequence of an automatic loss of cell phone privileges if he is caught lying. He went right into a 24 hour loss of cell phone privileges but got his others back. Was this the right thing to do? Should he have stayed in a complete loss of privilege since he was dishonest during this time?
One of his sodas exercises was a situation similar to this. I’m not sure how I was supposed to handle it.
Also before he decided to accept his consequence after going through the rule of three, he was trying to leave the house and go to my moms house where she does not support my parenting wishes or program I’m trying to follow but I had to physically put myself in front of the door while he physically tried to move me for around 30 mins. I’m not sure what I was supposed to do in this situation.
He came around eventually, accepted everything but then was dishonest during his 24 loss of privileges. I was pretty lost and unsure if I handled everything correctly.
