Honeymoon is over from Cincinnati! My darling 8 year old son earned a 24 hour loss of privileges for being out of control for arguing over getting ready for church. Well, here we are 36 hours later and he has done only one chore. I told him throughout the day that if he is not doing chores and MM and SODAS then he is not accepting consequences and is not in instructional control and thus, his 24 hour loss of privileges has not started. He did do one chore at 3pm to start the clock but then stopped and I think he is just hoping to run the clock down without doing the rest of the consequences. He has not been doing school either. He has been cooking his meals and playing with his little brother. Anyone want a third dinner? Stall techniques are creative and impressive because he knows no desserts but we won’t deny him food and that he can procrastinate longer with performing the clean up of he copious amounts of meals. He has become a Hobbit. I am curious how to handle this? The good news is that come Wednesday morning we may be out of food that he knows how to cook and consume and he may have to relent do his second chore.
