Janet Summit | Teaching Self-Government

Janet Summit

My name is Janet Summit, and I am the mother of 11 children.  My husband (Don) and I have been married for 36 years, and our children range in age from 15 to 30 years old.

I had always assumed that if you simply did the best you could, and loved your children, that you wouldn't have any real parenting challenges.  Well, sad to say, that's not exactly true.   Several years ago we found ourselves dealing with some very challenging issues in our home.  Luckily, I was introduced to "Teaching Self Government" (TSG).  I learned that parenting can be very intentional, and that there are actual skills that we can teach our children.  I learned that the family structure matters.  What I learned and began to apply literally changed our family's experience, and gave us the tools we needed to help our children become self governing.  I know TSG works, because we have lived it.

I'm passionate about sharing the Parenting Mastery course.   I refer to the concepts and ideas  as principles, because they will give you guidance as to how to parent in any situation you may face.  That allows us to be calm, confident, and secure as parents, and helps our children be calm, confident, and secure too.  "Family unity" is not just a buzz word.  It can be our common reality.

My personal interests include teaching, writing, reading, and doing things with my family.  I know that TSG can help families and bless lives.
