Comprehensive Self-Government Training Course (10 Modules)

Nicholeen takes you step by step on how to start implementing self-government in your own life, and in your home, in this course. Each lesson is divided up in easy 5-20 minute sections.

Go at your own pace! While we recommend going through from start to finish, you can jump ahead if you feel the need to focus on something, or you can always come back and re-watch these lessons as needed.

Children's Book Package

“Londyn LaRae Says Okay!” is a children’s picture book that helps parents teach their children to follow instructions. Little Londyn LaRae just can’t seem to say “okay” when her parents and grandparents tell her to do chores or take on responsibilities. She seems to always get distracted in some way or another.

Paije Takes the Stage teaches children the principle of disagreeing appropriately. This is a principle mentioned in each of the other books in the “Teaching Self-Government: Four Basic Skills” four-book children’s series, but is explored more in depth in this book. What is disagreeing appropriately? Just ask eight-year-old Paije.

Ten-year-old Quin has a problem not being able to accept consequences. He doesn’t think things are his fault and always looks for someone else to blame. When he earns natural or synthetic consequences, like extra chores, he doesn’t stay calm. He yells, pouts and can’t drop the subject. If there is a key lesson in learning self-government, it is this skill — learning to accept consequences.

Children don’t like hearing “no” when they ask for something, but it is a normal part of life. Many children whine, pout and get angry when they don’t get their way. These negative actions can have a significant impact on a family’s well-being. Lovingly teaching children how to accept “no” answers is a vital part of creating happiness in the home. Once a child understands how to appropriately accept “no” answers, they become more confident, less anxious, more connected to family and much happier.

Parenting A House United 2nd Edition

Parenting A House United - Secular Edition

Is your home in crisis? Do your children never do what they are told? Do you find yourself completely overwhelmed and hating to interact with your children? Do your children treat you with disrespect and cause contention at home? Are you out of control of your emotions as a parent too?

If any of these descriptions sound like your house, then you might be in crisis and you will definitely benefit from reading this book. It is written for you. This book is also written for people who don‘t want to ever have a home like I have described above and for parents who want to have an effectively communicating family right from the very beginning of parenthood.

Popular Parenting Methods

Security and happiness are made in structured, loving environments where parents strictly follow principles. In fact, happiness enters more than the mind of a child, it enters the child’s heart. Which, after all, is the place where change occurs. When we reach the hearts of our children they choose the freedom which comes only through self-government.

This is the reason for this book — to help us examine our parenting choices and look closely where those choices will lead our children. Are they self-governing now? Will they be trained to be self-governing as adults? If not, it is time for a Parenting Revolution in your home.

Roles - Secular Edition

Roles. They define our rights, obligations, responsibilities, beliefs, and even who we are. How well do we each understand our respective roles? How do we teach our children about proper roles? How would the problems children and parents face change if they better understood roles?

Aren’t parents whether aggressive, passive or assertive always defining roles anyway? How do roles effect business relationships? Why do we see the roles in today’s world wrapped around so much confusion and debate when it’s impossible to escape roles? This book (published in 2016) makes roles easier to understand, and it shows how to strengthen roles and empower ourselves and those we live and work with to reach our full potentials.

Choices Map & Cue Cards

If you are familiar with the Teaching Self-Government structure of choices and consequences, then this Choices Map will help you keep your mind clear as you work to implement this system in your home. The value of having a visual to work from when needing to know what comes next has been impactful for many parents.

When I did foster care, I had a hard time remembering the new vocabulary I was required to use to help these troubled youth, so I made some cue cards to help myself. When I first started teaching people the language of self-government and I saw them struggling to remember the new words, I remembered how much cue cards had helped me in the past. For a few years now, we have offered cue cards for people to purchase at conferences and have had some basic downloads on the site as part of the Implementation Course.

4 Group Mentor Calls

Included in the TSG Parenting Course, every other week meet via video call with one of our Certified Mentors and other parents to discuss the lessons, modules, skills, and principles covered in your course.

Practice skills, and ask questions on how to implement principles. Share experiences with other parents on what is working, and hear from them in return.

Parenting in a Tech-Sexual World

This is a recording of the full-day online seminar we held in April 2018. Once you purchase, the video recordings can be found in under the Courses menu on the Members page.

You can watch it all at once in a single day, or break it up over as many days as you need. There are 4 parts of about 2 hours each. It’s recommended that you at least watch one part per sitting, so plan accordingly.

Dare to Take Command

As parents deliberately trying to create the kind of family we want, there is one issue that we’re constantly faced with and will never be able to escape. This is by far the number one problem that parents ask me about after working to teach self-government in their home. It’s without a doubt the hardest thing any of us will ever do in this life. What is this number one issue? It’s taking command of our own personal self-government.

Note: This is an online course.

10 Habits for Building Better Family Bonds

One of the most difficult parts of modern parenting is maintaining strong bonds with family members. We are not only busy, but have lots of distractions and ideologies that are tearing our family relationships apart right before our eyes. No matter the ages of your children, it’s never too early nor too late to build powerful bonding habits. In fact, building good bonding habits could be the very thing that gives your family the strength to be impenetrable during these difficult times.

Join Nicholeen for a 3 hour event that can change hearts and lives in your family!

Value and Mastery of Emotion product image

The Value and Mastery of Emotion

I think many people assume that when a person is self-governed that means they treat emotions as bad things. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Emotions are an important part of us and our relationships and can even draw us closer together. But, they can also fracture families and create disconnections. In this 3 hour event I’ll help you finally fully understand emotions and how to use them to connect with others as well as how to make sure they don’t put you and your family in emotional bondage. A self-governed person should be the very best at sharing and understanding emotions. At this event, I’ll give you the training you need to do that for yourself and your family.

5 Social Lessons Every Child Must Know

Come hear Nicholeen get real about what is happening in the world today and why we deeply need social skills.

Here are some favorite quotes by Nicholeen from this presentation:

“Peer interaction in a social setting is a learning experience to be discussed later with the trainer. It’s not experience itself.”

“Speaking the truth is the weapon the world needs to heal.”

Becoming a Joyful Adult

This exclusive audio seminar has previously only been available to members of the TSG Support Group. It details the 5 Key Characteristics of raising and becoming a joyful adult.  Many of you have heard Nicholeen say:

I am not making perfect children; they don’t exist.  I am making joyful adults who know what their mission in life is and can’t wait to fight for it and have a solid relationship with God and family.

While teaching your children and yourself the principles of self-government is a big part of the process towards becoming joyful, there is more to it. Listen to this five-part audio seminar to better understand how you and your children can prepare to be joyful adults and better live your missions in life.

Training the Heart

This is an amazing class by Nicholeen where she connects, in her unique perspective, how we are made of parts: heart, body and mind.  This class talks about how you can train your heart to rule over your body, instead of becoming victim to the emotional reactions that put us in bondage and misery.

TSG for Type-A and type-B product image

Teaching Self-Government for Type – A & Type B Personalities

Have you ever wondered why you just can’t seem to click with your child’s personality?  In this class, Nicholeen Peck discusses key differences between Type-A and Type-B personalities.  When parents and children differ in their personality traits, their relationship can become fragile and should be handled with prudence.  This class provides some common sense solutions to help avoid serious relationship damage.  Nicholeen demonstrates how a Type-A parent should handle a Type-B child, and vice versa.

This class was recorded for Nicholeen’s 10-step Implementation Course

The Cultural Parenting Revolution

Are you an effective parent?  Are you causing you children more harm than good? These are questions that all conscientious parents ask themselves. In a groundbreaking class, Nicholeen Peck discusses popular forms of parenting throughout the ages and analyzes the positives and negatives of common parenting styles.  Armed with years of experience raising children from varied backgrounds, Nicholeen illustrates some of the pitfalls of modern parenting styles and gives detailed answers on how to solve common issues.

Power of Calm

An hour-long audio class by Nicholeen, provided digitally.

In this class we talk about how fathers and mothers can tap into the power called ‘being calm.’ We also role play how you calm both yourself and your child down at the same time without having to lose your control. The first step to great parenting is getting yourself ready for the hard times which will inevitably come. Prepare for that future by listening and learning the power of calm.”
