I recently heard the phrase, "addicted to busyness," and it really made me stop and think. Most addictions are unhealthy, so what is it about being constantly busy that could lead to unhealthy consequences in our lives? I realized that sometimes we guage our self worth by the amount of items we are able to check off our to-do lists. When you get in that mode, it becomes more difficult to recognize important moments — moments to correct, moments to encourage, moments to relax and make a memory. You can't exactly plan for them, because they always seem to come when you least expect them.
The next time you see a teaching or loving moment and you find yourself thinking, "I just don't have time to deal with that right now," I encourage you to stop, consider your priorities, and live that moment to its fullest.
